How do I prepare for treatment review meeting?

by Andrew59 on Mon Dec 19, 2016 4:57 am

I have had multiple myeloma since February 2014. My first treatment was cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), thalidomide, and dexamethasone (CTD).

Current treatment consists of 6 cycles each 21 days (just finishing 5th cycle):
Bortezomib - Velcade 2.5 mg
Cyclophosphamide - 500 mg
Dexamethasone - 4 mg

My consultant has requested an urgent review this Wednesday as my paraprotein levels have not dropped enough. Started at 44 g/L (4.4 g/dL) and currently at 31 g/L (3.1 g/dL).

Looks like
1. Treatment is not right for me
2. Drug levels are low (particularly dex)
3. More time is required

Any thoughts out there to help me prepare for the Wednesday meeting?

Many thanks and a Happy Christmas to you all,
Andrew
