JPC-I always enjoy reading your posts. Your knowledge and experiences have been very helpful and of course thank you for the well wishes. Your wife is lucky to have such a good husband I wish her the best too.

Two things--First, you will be fine with your collected cells.

Second, your Health Insurer will prolly pop for the temporary housing. Most do cover it, as it is required by your Provider.

Rhonda,

Dug up my notes on the American Cancer Society (ACS). My notes tell me that I need to call them a couple of weeks before. Our health insurance would cover a little, but not much. I also have Aflac cancer policy and they pay some also, but nothing like the ACS housing program. They were very nice to talk to. Very understanding.

Thank you for the post and vote of confidence. I asked my health provider and they do not assist with housing. I do have a cancer policy, which should assist with a portion of the cost.

Thank you for the telephone number. I will call. It might be too late. That is okay if they can't assist. I will be okay.

I spoke with my doctor and she said 4 million is Stanford's minimum on the stem cell collection. She assured me that there have been others that have used 2 million per transplant and are fine. She said there is a support group there, but I live too far away. Maybe I will attend when I feel better, after the transplant, but still in the area. She was very kind and willing to listen to my con­cerns.
