How long on Revlimid (with or without dex)?

I have been on Revlimid 10mg (3 out of 4 weeks) with dex 8 mg (once a week) for nearly a year. I am curious how long most have been on Revlimid alone, or with or without dex.

I have minimal fatigue. My kappa light chains, which were 1200 have been in the 250-300 range, and my hematologist said he is happy to keep me there as I have no other myeloma signs.

I have been on Revlimid since March of 2008. During this time, I started with Revlimid 25 mg and dex 20 mg, now my Revlimid is down to 10 mg and dex 2 mg. When I started in 2008, my M-spike was 1.65 g/dL (16.5 g/L). After six months of this dose, the M-spike was 0.5 g/dl (5 g/L). Now there is no detected abnormal protein.

Due to increased side effects of nausea and diarrhea recently, I've had a three-month drug holiday. Prior to this, my only lapse in therapy was after my stem cell transplant in November 2005. After seven years of putting up with neuropathy, not sleeping, nausea, diarrhea, I am still here. In total, my 0th anniversary sure feels good.

Most of us will live longer than we had hoped after such a horrible diagnosis – thanks to all the researchers and good doctor's who fight for us each day. We may not feel great on a daily basis, but do something to get out and LIVE!!!
