High but stable WBC during Revlimid-dex maintenance

by lwem on Tue Jun 28, 2016 5:13 pm

Hi all,

My husband's WBC count has been bit high (12.50 K/uL - 14.68 K/uL) the last three months (neutrophils (9-12.6K/uL) and monocytes(1.6-1.8 K/uL)), but stable at these levels. His doctor has stated that this is from the dexamethasone (demargination keeping WBC from leaving bloodstream).

He is on Revlimid-dexamethasone maintenance (Revlimid 10 mg/day; dex 20 mg/week).

Have others experienced similar high WBC counts on Revlimid-dexamethasone? If so, is this a concern for further immunosuppression?

Thank you. Our doctor is a myeloma specialist, but it has been causing me enough concern, I thought I would see if others have seen similar elevations in these numbers.

Thank you for any replies.

Laurie
