Thanks for the support guys!
I have been living a normal life for the last 5 years or so, once I recovered from being sick for so long plus the harsh treatments.
I have been drug free since 2010 (post transplant) my team thinks I am a good responder and my myeloma is sensitive to meds. They (and I) anticipate another good response when I do start treatment again.
One of the reasons they are letting me watch and wait for so long is due to my initial high m-spike. Since it was so high at diagnosis I am showing a slow growing myeloma in relation to that.
I'm going back on October 17 for follow up. Blood testing in two weeks, and a MRI to check for spine involvement. My doctor did say it was time to start being more vigilant.
Balancing quality of life is important with this disease. I have a good quality of life right now. even though I have relapsed I don't feel sick. Mild symptoms, some anemia, some mild bone pains, but nothing like when I was first diagnosed.
