Hi,
My mother will this week start with her stem cell transplant treatment. It is 6 weeks ago since she got the last treatment with Velcade.
I do not have the exact numbers at the moment of writing, but since February the serum kappa / lambda ratio has increased from about 5 to 600 mg/L. At moment of diagnosis (October 2015), the ratio was 3400 mg/L, but to about 5 in November 2015 after treatment, and being stable in December-February. Since February there was a break without measuring kappa / lambda ratio, and now just before the stem cell transplant the ratio has increased to 600 mg/L, which worries us.
Does kappa/lambda ratio vary a lot during treatment? And is this value important for the prognosis?
Thanks for help.

Re: High kappa / lambda ratio before stem cell transplant
Dear Lacerta,
FLC readings (kappa, lambda and ratio) vary a lot during treatment. Your physician/hematologist will be the best person to answer your specific question.
I wish your mom successful ASCT.
