High kappa lambda FLC ratio

by lakefront on Sun Jun 05, 2016 11:37 am

Hi,

I am new to this forum.

Can anyone tell me what these results mean?

Kappa free light chain 1.48
Lambda free light chain 0.70
Kappa, Lambda FLC ratio 2.11.

I was just referred to a hematologist and have an appointment in 2 weeks. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, double mastectomy, chemo, radiation, and currently on tamoxifen for 5 years.

Thank you

lakefront

Hi Lakefront,

Welcome to the forum.

Could you share exactly why this serum free light chain assay was run in the first place? Were you exhibiting some specific symptoms or were there other test results that caused your doctor to order this test?

Do you have any other test results from a serum protein electrophoresis, serum immunofixation, quantified immunoglobulin (IgG, IgA, IgM), CBC or metabolic panel that are showing any values that are out of range?

Please also kindly include units of measure (and normal ranges) when quoting any figures.
