Hi from Maryland

Hi All!

I was diagnosed with myeloma in December and was started on weekly infusions of CyBorD (cyclophosphamide, Velcade, and dexamethasone) on December 31, 2018. Darzalex will be added to the mix next week. I have an oncologist in Annapolis and a myeloma specialist at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and I will be evaluated this spring for stem cell transplant.

I have been reading the posts here for several weeks now and have found them to be a great source of wisdom and a nice balance between insightful and encouraging and open and honest. Thank you all!

As we always say, sorry you have to be here, but welcome!

I would say you are very fortunate to have both an oncologist and myeloma specialist. You should receive good guidance.

As a fellow Darzalex user, I will be interested to follow your experiences. I'm wondering if you continue with CyBorD in addition to Darzalex.

Also, it would be interesting to know how myeloma numbers respond to treatment. Perhaps you could start a thread where chronicle your treatment experience. I have done so for my experience with Darzalex ("My Darzalex journey," forum thread started June 13, 2018).

Hi Mary,

Howdy neighbor. We are also from Maryland. My husband is smoldering, approaching the transition to myeloma requiring treatment. We are followed by an Annapolis oncologist and a myeloma specialist at Moffitt (Florida), where we spend winters.

I am also from Maryland. I have an Annapolis oncologist and see a specialist at Johns Hopkins.

Hi Mary,

Also in Maryland with MGUS. Went to University of Maryland-Baltimore for about a year, then switched to Georgetown.
