Help Requested in Reading Results

I'm hoping to tap into members' extensive knowledge. You might think that after five years of looking at these results, I would understand them better!

Bryan's latest SPEP results:

SPEP revealed a restricted band in the gamma region consistent with the IgG
Kappa monoclonal protein previously identified 9/5/12. This band represents
51% of the gamma region or 1.72 g/dL. Previous result was 1.48 g/dL on 4/19/13.

His last test represented 88% of the gamma region. What does this difference mean? The rest of his blood work is pretty good, all things considered. This is the second month that we have seen an increase in these numbers. We are feeling frustrated as he does not seem to be responding to carfilzomib at all. We won't be able to talk to his oncologist until next week, but last month he said we should give it more time because the rest of his bloodwork looks good. Waiting is not my strength and doesn't make for a celebratory holiday weekend! We would appreciate any shared knowledge.

Smiles, Beth
