Leaving this morning for an 8-day trip on the Danube to take in the Christmas Markets. So thankful my husband feels well enough to go as we planned this a year ago. He was diagnosed in July and is halfway through his 6th round of Vel/dex. Treatment has worked very well. Other getting tired easily he has hardly any symptoms now.
This year was pretty ugly as my mom died in March and then this myeloma diagnosis so I haven't exactly been in the Christmas spirit. Hopefully this trip will give me a kickstart! Oh, and I am really looking forward to the German fare and beer!

Re: Heading to Europe!
Have a wonderful trip! A friend of mine and her adult daughter might be on the same trip with you. Her name is Eileen. Her husband was supposed to go, but is in the midst of treatment for a different type of cancer.
I'm so glad that you and your husband can take the time to celebrate some joys of this season.

Enjoy!
My husband was diagnosed April 2014 and had a stem cell transplant in April this year. We are currently in Rome for his birthday! Having a wonderful time and celebrating life!
Relax, enjoy, and share the time together!

Re: Heading to Europe!
Got home last night after a grueling travel day. All in all, my husband did pretty well. Every day there was a walking tour of a couple hours duration. He stayed on the boat a couple of times. It was hard enough for me to do! Lots of cobble stone roads and hills.
We were up at 5:30 a.m. yesterday (11:30 p.m. EST Thursday) and didn't get home until 8 p.m. (Friday) last night. He was pooped. He said last night that there would be no more trips like that for him.
