Heading south - how difficult to continue treatment?

by kullybunnny1 on Tue Nov 11, 2014 10:02 pm

I'm thinking of going South to avoid 2 months of cold weather. I receive monthly Zometa treatments. How difficult is it to either stop treatments, or seek an oncologist to receive infusions at my considered location, just outside Washington, DC?

I'm sure I'll need 30 day blood work and I also have a medi-port that needs to be flushed if not accessed. My concern is getting this approved by my insurance provider and also finding a physician to take me for such a short period.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Can you check with your local doctor for a recommendation? That might really make the process go more smoothly.
