Halitosis / bad breath

by Melpen on Fri May 30, 2014 11:03 am

This seems like a minor problem in the whole picture of things, but I was wondering if anyone else has had bad breath.

While being hospitalized for fracture of plasmacytoma (and diagnosed with multiple myeloma), I got a bad case of halitosis and now, three months later, it is still just as bad, although some days are better than others.

I've asked the doctors if they know what could be causing it and they are stumped. I've tried probiotics for my stomach / mouth flora and my dental health is fine. I wonder if it could be a strange side effect of chemo (CyBorD - Velcade, Cytoxan, dex) or some other medication I am taking.

Has anyone experienced this? :?:

Hi Melpen,

I've noticed that EJ's breath often smells bad, and its the same smell all the time (Not affected by what he eats). I wonder if it could be the vitamins or fish oil supplements he's taking.

This is not a common problem. I would make sure you don't have thrush or chronic tonsillitis.
