Hello Everyone,
Visit to our oncologist resulted in good news. Husband still smoldering, but, as I told him, I always thought he was "hot"!
I have a question for people who have been here and are so much more knowledgable in this awful disease. I have been reading a blog called "Curing Myeloma" by a "theresa" who was only using a holistic approach to treating her myeloma -- a method developed by a Dr. Gonzalez. Her postings stopped in May of 2014. Does anyone know if she has passed away?

Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
Hi Mildred,
I'm glad to hear that your husband is still smoldering.
I've not followed Theresa's blog, although I've heard of it. Her blog, for better or worse, is one of the first things that comes up in a Google search for "curing myeloma".
If you haven't seen them already, there are a lot of discussions here in the forum about Dr. Gonzalez and his approach to treating multiple myeloma and other cancers. See, for example, this list of discussions here in the forum (from a forum search).
As you'll see, some of the discussions in the list are specifically focused on the Gonzalez therapy, for example,
"Gonzalez therapy / protocol for myeloma - experiences," disc. started Apr 13, 2014.
"Hello, new here but not new to myeloma," disc. started Apr 10, 2014.
There's a lot of good stuff in these and the other forum discussions on the topic. I recommend reading them if you're looking for useful perspectives on the subject.
Good luck!

Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
Good Morning Ian,
Thank you for your response . When my husband was diagnosed, I did what so many people do: I overdosed on research, which I believe many do.
I truly believe that knowledge is power and the Beacon, along with many others, has helped me tremendously in understanding this disease and calming my "nervous Annie" wife syndrome! I discovered Theresa's blog during this period and what made think of it yesterday was a conversation with our oncologist / hematologist during our visit yesterday.
I do respect everyone's choice with treatment but, for myself and my husband, we believe in proven conventional treatment, if ever it is needed. My husband does take curcumin and Wobenzym along with a multivitamin.
We were asking our oncologist about this, hence the question here.
Prayers for you and all here,
Mildred

Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
Hi Mildred.
I was diagnosed in April 2011 and started the Gonzalez protocol that July. My IgG at the time was around 5000, but I had no disease symptoms. I stayed on the protocol for about a year and then my IgG started increasing. Dr G said it wasn't working. I was devastated and so afraid of drugs and conventional medicine.
But I found a wonderful oncologist and never looked back. I am stage 2 and now having a stem cell transplant this weekend. Someone told me about Theresa and I spoke to her by phone (when I was still doing the Gonzalez protocol). She was young with young children and a different type of multiple myeloma. She had some ups and downs at that time but was doing okay. I am glad she is still doing well.
I don't regret trying the protocol and think highly of Dr G.
My best to you and your husband,
Kathy

Thank you, dee, for answering. Do you know why she does not blog anymore?
Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
I am so sorry for responding so late, just saw this. Theresa sued the rider of the bike that hit her and caused her compression fracture. Her attorney is not allowing her to blog or talk about her condition or multiple myeloma.
Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
Thank you, Dee777! I was wondering what happened to her since she has not posted in over a year. I'm glad to hear she's doing well

Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
I contacted her in early December regarding Gonzalez therapy and how could I contact him. She kindly answered. So she is still ok. Though she told me that Dr. Gonzalez had passed away.

Re: Update on multiple myeloma patient on Gonzalez therapy?
Mildred,
I am Theresa's best friend. I am very sad to report that she passed away one month ago today. I was by her side every step of the way through each treatment that she pursued (Gerson, then Gonzalez, then Emonds). She had a great deal of success with each therapy to the point that conventional doctors could not believe that she was as healthy as she was five years into it.
She had amazing strength and was fully dedicated to keeping her disease at bay with alternative therapies. She was a beacon of hope and we are so grateful for her, her dedication, her incredible knowledge and also her love.
Thank you for all you gave to this world T. We are all better and more knowledgeable because of you. We love you and miss you and we'll carry out your legacy.
