My father is in his 9th year of multiple myeloma treatment. He has never had a transplant, but has tried all sorts of drugs including Melphalan, Prednisone, Thalidomide, Dexamethasone, Velcade, Revlimid. His serum free light chains numbers are rocket-high now. With weekly dexa treatment, he is suspected to have a pulmonary aspergilloma developed from fungal infection.
Is it common to have come down with fungal infections? Are aggressive treatments needed?

This should shed some light on the topic of fungal infections and multiple myeloma. Infections are more typical in multiple myeloma patients due to our compromised immune systems.

He's on Vfend for his aspergilloma. However, it was indicated that Vfend and Pomalyst cannot be used together due to drug interaction. Anyone has such experience?
