I have had Smoldering Myeloma for a long time. But I have many other illnesses. I sit alone every day because the family is out at work. When I don't feel well there is no one to talk to. When they get home they feel like I am a pain in the rear ( rightfully so); they don't need to hear all of my health issues after a hard days work. I have lost confidence in my doctors and there ability to make me well. I sometimes get the feeling that my doctors do not see me as a person. I represent a job and income to them. I remember the days when bedside manner was important. The doctors say i need to talk to someone about this and then hand me a tranquilizer.

Re: Feeling alone panicky and scared
Hi, you may try getting involved in cancer/myeloma support groups of which there are many. Many of them will assign a buddy to you who knows what you are going through. Good luck. Terry
