The days my wife is not on dexamethasone, she sleeps all the time. She has been asleep for 2 solid days with just short periods awake to eat and use restroom. She is highly relapsed / refractory and her numbers are out of control.
I am hoping she is just catching up on months of sporadic sleep from daily dexamethasone use.
Is this sort of extended sleep after dexamethasone common?

Re: Fatigue after dexamethasone (dex)?
Hi TheLimeUSA,
Sorry to hear that your wife is experiencing such bad fatigue. Cancer fatigue is real and if she has "out of control" disease it is not surprising that she is experiencing fatigue. It sounds like she has also used a lot of therapy over the years, and fatigue is a common side effect of myeloma therapies. Given those 2 factors I would be surprised if she was not feeling fatigued.
Hopefully things will improve moving forward.
