My mom has been in full remission the past 2 years but recently her SPEP interpretation said faint IgG kappa band in the gamma region. What does this mean?
My mom has been on 10 mg of Revlimid for maintenance the past 18 months.

Re: Faint IgG kappa band in the gamma region?
Hello,
You will most likely have to wait and see if this finding comes up again in your mother's next round of testing. If it does, it would be confirmation that a monoclonal protein is once again appearing in your mother's blood. However, as is mentioned by one or two people in this previous forum thread,
"Faint M protein in labs - what are the implications?" (started Oct 29, 2014)
just because there is an initial sign of the monoclonal protein, it does not mean that your mother will require treatment again anytime very soon. It varies from person to person.

Re: Faint IgG kappa band in the gamma region?
My mom's kappa lambda quantitation has been been going up over the past six months. It is now at 40 with a kappa-lambda ratio of 2.2.
Is there anything that should be done at this point?
She has been in remission for almost 2 years.
Thanks.
