Re: Experience with Revlimid maintenance

by S Kirby on Mon Dec 08, 2014 10:27 pm

I have been on maintenance Revlimid (10 mg, 21 days out of 28) since September of 2011. I went through chemo of Velcade, Revlimid and Dex for four months and then a stem cell transplant in July, 2011. Although I have had some side effects, after reading about others, they have been few and bearable. What is the longest anyone has been using Revlimid maintenance?

See how your light chains and M-spike are responding. In my case, they have responded well even at a dose of Revlimid 10 mg and dex 20 mg. The difference in side effects was really significant with the lower dose (except for the taste issues).

To Dallas, I have been on low-dose maintenance for 3 years. Revlimid 5mg 21 days out of 28. Velcade weekly with dex 8 mg on shot day (3 weeks out of 28 days). Also am getting Zometa monthly. Only side effect is slight neuropathy. Maybe a slight improvement on my off week, but I feel pretty good most of the time anyway. I expect to be taken off all meds when I return to UAMS in February. I feel blessed to have survived this far (4 years) and feel like something besides multiple myeloma will take me out.

A note, I take my Revlimid at bedtime. Somewhere along the line I was told it would make me sleepy.
