'dis is I

Hello everyone:

Glad to be here. I'll cut to the chase. I'm male. Just turned 59. Diagnosed with smoldering myeloma in Feb 2011. Still no outward symptoms. I see my oncologist every six months. Last met about one month ago. She OK'd me to come back in another six months. Lab results sent to her about 4 after days this appointment. Nurse said "results are stable", i.e., similar to results from July 2012. Doesn't tell you much, I know. I do remember that my M-spike in July 2012 was 1.6.

Seeing my regular doc this coming Friday for annual phys exam. His nurse took six blood samples for analysis last week. First time I've given six samples in prep for an annual physical. I'm worried that I won't like the results. This is doc who sent me to the oncologist after he spotted problems with blood protein levels in Dec 2010.

I'm married with one 18-year-old daughter who is a freshman at University of Miami (FL). I play guitar in a rock & roll hobby band. Hobby as in no pay, just fun.

There you go. Again, glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum, David, and thanks for introducing yourself. As you've probably already noticed, there are a number of other people here with smoldering myeloma.

I hope your worries about the appointment on Friday are unfounded. Let us know how it turns out.

Try not to worry too much. Sounds like things have been stable for awhile.

Good to hear from you. We all need a place share or vent.

Good luck.
