I believe that I have experienced this - multiple myeloma more severe form of gluten intolerance than celiac disease.
My favorite snaps are the cereals that I eat, cream of wheat, oatmeal, other cereals, etc., but I observed and notice that my digestive system was getting weaker. One weekend, I my stomach locked up and I could not digest any food. My stomach got larger and larger until finally I went to the emergency room.
The doctors had to drain my stomach and then I was sent to the hospital and was there for 5 days. I was given intravenous fluids, but no food for 5 days. At the hospital, I went online to research the matter and found out that my problem was that not only was my digestive system locked up, but if it didn't unlock, I would have to have an operation on my digestive system.
After 5 days, my digestive system unlocked itself. If not, and they would have to operate, I could have ended up with a bag on the outside. Now, that was frightening.
So now, I won't eat any type of gluten food. None at all. I believe that the gluten food was weakening my digestive system and had a bad reaction to my myeloma treatment.
