Difference - bone lesion vs. bone plasmacytoma?
What is the difference between a bone lesion and a bone plasmacyrtoma?
Re: Difference - bone lesion vs. bone plasmacytoma?
I'm not positive about this so I hope someone else answers who can either support my definitions or refute them.
Bone lesion - holes in the bone where cancer cells have eaten away the bone matrix.
Bone plasmacytoma - a cancerous growth on the bone filled with cancerous plasma cells.
Plasmacytomas can occur anywhere in the body - bone, soft tissue, nerve tissue, etc. You can develop them in isolation or with a diagnosis of myeloma. Bone lesions can occur with any kind of cancer that metastasizes to the bone.
Plasmacytomas are 2 different things, but you could possibly have both a lesion in one place and a plasmacytoma in another.
