I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on October 19, 2016 due to a lesion on my right thigh. I completed CyBorD (cyclophosphamide, Velcade, and dexamethasone) treatment and underwent a stem cell transplant in March 2017. I'm currently in the recovering stage. I’m now going to start maintenance with Revlimid.
I really wanted to thank all those who have contributed to this site over the years as all the information really helped me during my treatment and the side effects. I still continue to visit this site on and off and over time I will also add my experiences and build up the support.

Re: Diagnosed in October 2016 with multiple myeloma
Hi Arhoza.
My story is very similar to yours, although I am about 10 years older. I was diagnosed in November 2016, went on CyBorD for 5 1/2 months, had an autologous stem cell transplant in June, and just started 10 mg daily Revlimid for maintenance. I was given the option of whether to go on maintenance therapy. I elected to do so, because my M-protein never did reach zero and had started to elevate ever so slightly on my most recent blood test. The lowest level I achieved to date for the M-protein was 4.2 g/L (0.42 g/dL), and that was last month. My recent result was 4.4 g/L, which may be just a small variance, but it was the first time since diagnosis that there was any upward movement.
I completely agree with you on the kudos to fellow patients and caregivers here on the Beacon. I hope to continue to hear from persons like yourself and wish you all the best going forward.
