A good friend of mine was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma 4 years ago. She finally started chemo treatment for it 2 years ago. Her treatment is probably old by now since so many new treatments have been coming along in that time. She had a really rough time during treatment and for a number of months afterward, but seems to be doing well now. She was on maintenance with Rituxan, I think, until a couple of months ago. She stopped the maintenance because she was beginning to feel really run down with it. She has a very low tolerance for any kind of drug, so I wasn't overly surprised by her deciding to stop taking whatever it was. She feels a lot better now.
I'm so glad that your husband has finally got a diagnosis. Although he has a long road ahead of him, at least you know what you are dealing with now. That in itself it must be a relief. Now you have a whole new topic to research and learn about. I hope that the research that you did for Myeloma helps you with your research and journey with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
The best to your husband and his treatment, and you in supporting him,
Nancy in Phila
