Tears in my eyes. What a great moment to be near Mona again. How did she react?

Hi!

Thanks for all of the well wishes. Mona was very happy to see me! She picked her head up, ears up, and walked slowly toward me. Her pasture mate (who I have known for many years) wasn't quite sure about me (the mask, sunglasses, gloves) and she didn't take the carrot that I offered. But, Mona came right up to the fence and nickered at me. It was so sweet!

So glad to see that you are doing so well, Debbie. I hope you continue to feel better, and that you've gotten a deep response from the transplant procedure.

Hi Debbie,

Our stem cell transplant journeys are pretty similar. I am at Day +47 and am also feeling almost back to normal. I went running again (3 miles) for the first time yesterday. It feels so good to be able to do the things that I enjoyed prior to the transplant. Next step is to return to work. I will be seeing my doctor within the next 2 weeks and fully expect to be released and able to go back to my job. Thankful to have an employer who held my position for me.

For those about to begin the SCT process, I know that everyone's recovery varies, but if you were able to do something prior to the treatment you should be able to do it again after the treatment. Stay positive and move at your own pace.

Debbie,

It sounds like you're doing great in your post transplant journey - that's awesome.

I'm glad I've found the Beacon and specifically this thread. My wife will be undergoing a stem cell transplant at the end of June (inpatient at Brigham & Women's), and I've been reading whatever I can find to figure out what her next 3-6 months could be like.

In my mind I've been anticipating a much slower recovery, so it's good to see how well you're progressing.

Ok, I am 3 months post transplant, and I just got my labs back. My M-spike went from 0.42 g/dL to 0.24 g/dL (4.2 g/L to 2.4 g/L).

No Bence Jones or monocolonal bands in urine.

I am assuming this will be interpreted as 'partial remission'? I know that my initial numbers were low, and now are lower, but they are still there.

I was hoping for a complete remission, but suppose that I have to be happy that the numbers aren't higher than they are.

Anyone have answers as to just how much of a remission I am in?

Or if a tandem transplant might put me into complete remission?
