Re: Darzalex and Kyprolis Treatment
Sounds very manageable from a side-effect perspective Mr. PH! Did your doc give you any idea of how long it would be before you would likely see any improvement in your markers?

Hi Multibilly,
My doc told me that we should see my kappa free light chain level begin to drop during the first eight weeks, if not sooner.
And you are right about side effects. So far they have been minimal.

Re: Darzalex and Kyprolis Treatment
Mr. P.
Thank you for chronicling your experience. I'm hoping that my husband will soon enter a trial with Darzalex, Kyprolis, Revlimid, and dexamethasone, so this is very helpful. I wish you the best of outcomes.

Re: Darzalex and Kyprolis Treatment
Today I received my third Darzalex infusion. My only infusion reaction was a short spike in blood pressure – going from 120/55 to 152/70 for about 20 minutes.
This has also happened during my two previous infusions, but those spikes were a bit higher and lasted longer.
During my first infusion, the infusion was stopped during the blood pressure spike (the nurses take my blood pressure every hour during the infusion), the infusion was stopped for about ten minutes, my blood pressure decreased to within its normal range, and the infusion was restarted.
During my second infusion, the same thing happened and the infusion was again briefly stopped.
During today's infusion, it was not stopped during the spike – blood pressure was just taken more frequently, every half hour. It returned to normal within the first half hour.
Apart from these blood pressure related infusion reactions, and a mild bout of nausea after my first infusion, I have had no other reactions or side effects from Darzalex so far. I am also on Kyprolis, and I have had no side effects from that drug either, apart from some myelosuppression.
My steroid dosage has been changed. Dexamethasone has been discontinued, and the only steroid I will be taking going forward is 125 mg of methylpdrenisolone a day before the Darzalex infusion and 100 mg of methylprednisolone on the day of the Darzalex infusion.
