Here's a new paper on curcumin and its use as an anticancer agent. Not an easy read, but good data in it.

You can click on the links on the right side of the page to request a pdf of the full text of the doc after registering.

Hello everybody here...

My Mother age 55 yrs was diagnosed with plasmacytoma at D9 vertebra this year Jan 2013. After complete prognosis involving urine tests, blood test, Electrophoresis, biopsy, FNAC and bone marrow biopsy, Radiology etc plasmacytoma at her D9 Vertebra was confirmed.

She had no M-spike in her urine and blood electrophoresis. Her Immunoglobulin profile (IgA, IgM,IgG...) was also normal . Just her FREELITE test was abnormal with raise kappa light free chains (160.12 mg/L ; ratio 7.56). She underwent Radiotherapy 27 fraction with 45Gy (LINAC) starting 10th January 2013.

Her latest radio graphs (May 2013) shows partial collapse at D9 Vertebra with fibrolytic deposits but rest of the spine show no abnormality or abnormality in bone marrow signals. But her FREELITE test again shows some abnormality with ratio 4.16 and kappa light chains 56.12 mg/l.

Well is it a sign of progressive disease to Multiple Myeloma? Her M-spike last tested on end of March 2013 was negative.

I am a biotechnologist by profession and have had experienced positive effects of raw turmeric (especially its fresh roots) on arthritis, osteoporosis and spondiolysis and it were great. Turmeric is widely been used here in India and i am so happy to know that curcumin (a constituent of turmeric) can have good effects on malignant myeloma cells hopefully causing apoptosis and preventing angiogenesis.

I had given my mother piece of raw turmeric root in milk /milk thistle for her back pain when her cancer was still undiagnosed. It was around month of September 2012. It does gave her a good relief from pain until she underwent a FNAC of a tumor in her spine, after which tumor size increase abruptly within a month.

I am looking forward to resume turmeric root and curcumin this time to her after consultation with our Oncologist and Hematologist with some optimism. Well humanly i wish to suggest wheat grass (juice) and papaya leaf (juice) freshly prepared from ORGANIC raw leaves for those feeling tired and exhausted as my mother also feel most of the time. It does help boost her RBC and platelet counts significantly.

Please don't follow my suggestions blindly if anybody have doubt regarding their effectiveness.
