CT scan with contrast

by Debic on Tue Sep 08, 2015 10:05 am

I was diagnosed with MGUS 4 years ago. Recently they did a bone marrow biopsy, which came back clear.

Today I had to have a CT scan of my abdominal area. Prior to the test, they asked all the usual questions (high blood pressure etc., etc.), then the question I was surprised by: Do you have multiple myeloma? I said no but I have been diagnosed with MGUS.

They did the CT scan but would not do it with contrast. I told them I had had contrast before they said no. This test was not ordered by my oncologist; it was my gastro doctor before my colonoscopy. They said he wouldn't need the contrast; he ordered it!

Has anyone else had this happen to them?
