Dear Users
My Name is Sandra, im a multiple myeloma survivor, my husband has posted on this forum several times in the past. I hope you will understand why I am posting this story today. After having a stem cell transplant in 2011 and having a very tough time pulling through, I decided I wanted to go an a dream holiday with my husband and daughters. Those of you who also have multiple myeloma will understand how hard it is to come to terms with this condition when you have a young family. I want to tell you a story about the disgusting way my family and I were treated on the cruise ship carnival spirit.
We had been on the ship only three days and I had concerns for my older daughters as they had some older males following them around the ship. I approached security about my concerns and instead of looking into the issue they removed my husband and one of my daughters from the ship at the next port without warning and only 10mins before the ship departed. They gave no explaination as to why and had no regard to my current condition. Paul is my primary carer as I have some issues with damage to the nerves in my hands and the usual stuff we have to put up with. I was left with three children on the ship the youngest being 6 and without my carer. The staff on the ship were rude, had no concerns at all for my health and how I was going to look after myself and my daughters. Paul was removed from the ship in a foreign country we had never been to, with no licence, no money and no way of contacting me. I had to leave the ship the next day with my daughters to try and find Paul and my other daughter.
I found them in a couple of days and we flew home. Carnival supplied Paul with phone numbers which did not exist and provided me with no assistance at all. If any of you plan on going on a cruise in the future please do not cruise with carnival. They spoiled my first and only overseas trip.
I hope you are all doing well
Warm regards
Sandra

Re: Cruise of a life time
this is so awful
After hearing about the current cruise adrift with no engines, and the horrible conditions on board I don't think I will ever take a cruise.
There was a recent (Canadian) documentary about getting sick on a cruise that was a real eye opener also.
Please speak to a legal proffessional about your rights.
