This is something that we have never had to deal with on my husband's myeloma journey. multiple myeloma was only detected through his Free Kappa Light Chain test. It was never detected through his urine. His creatinine level has gone up from 1.2 to 1.3. Is this something that we need to be overly concerned about. Thank you in advance.
Praying with you for a cure!

Re: Creatinine Level
I'm sorry i don't really know what the normal creatine value should be. I was looking back over my own blood work and I noticed my creatinine has slowly krept up over the last few years.
When I was diagnosed it was 51 and stayed in the 50's for a year, then I had some tests in the 60's and then recently last year in the 70's and 80's. My last test was 95 and it was flagged abnormal, so they retested it a few months later it is back to 75. (I have had multiple myeloma since 2010)
Not really sure if I should be worried either. I have IGG lambda myeloma, and have had some protein in my samples but not Bence-Jones types.

Re: Creatinine Level
No. That isn't even a rise most likely, but just a day to day variation. I came off of dialysis, necessary because of Bence-Jones clogged kidneys, with a 3 and I continued to drop into the 1.5 range, but I fluctuate around that number.

Re: Creatinine Level
No worries. With multiple myeloma, I have heard anything under the 2.0 is fine. My husband was at 6.6 when diagnosed and his level has gradually went down with treatment. I don't think you have any worries at all.

Re: Creatinine Level
The normal range for Creatinine (w/eGFR) is .08-1.3.
Not sure at what levels they start to be concerned.
I do know that my husband who is dialysis dependent, secondary to Multiple Myleoma, runs between 5.1 and 7.6. The higher value is on his non dialysis days.

Re: Creatinine Level
What timing!! I was going to ask something similar.
I've been gaining weight / retaining fluids, my creatinine is up to 1.9 and my BUN is up to 25. Kidney problems has been a fear of mine since learning it can be a problem with multiple myeloma.

Re: Creatinine Level
As stated before, my husband was a 6.6 at diagnosis. his levels appear to be going down each day post transplant. I am hoping this stays the case. he has not done dialysis and is working to stay off of it. Hopefully, the asct will help even more. His kidneys did well through melphalan. We are at Day 4.
