creatinine level and GFR

by tpt on Mon Jul 22, 2013 10:25 am

Hello,

Dad's creatinine serum is 1.0 (normal); but his eGFR level is 80, which means, according to the explanation, "slightly impaired." (Normal range is above 90, while kidney failure is less than 15--I forgot the units.)

Should we be worried? Dad is due for ASCT soon, in one- to two-month time. He is 62.

Thanks.

You should not be worried. My husband is at a 5.0+ level and is not on dialysis and receiving chemo treatment.
