Could I have multiple myeloma?

by slee1956 on Thu Sep 09, 2010 11:48 am

In June of 08 I was dxed with ductal carsonoma Intsitu. I had a big surgery including both mastectomy and a total V histerectomy on the same day. I had a port intalled 3 weeks later and started chemo 4 AC and 4 taxol. I am currantly taking femura and lexapro. in sept of 08 i was DXed with lympadeima In may of 09 i had gallbadder surgery ... in June of 09 I was dxed with accute fracture of ribs on the right side which may have happened when I had the GB surgery. For the past 16 months I have had the following symptoms ... lower back pain of a 6 right sided rib pain of a 7 or 8 at times with swelling in that area.. since my GB surgery I have had at times extreme headaches with vomiting of a yellow bile type stuff.
In june of this year I ended up in the er on a saturday with severe leg/knee pain on my left side i could not walk on it felt like it was broken... The pain started out with a night time knee pain and gradually got worse to the piont of the er trip. It has not gotten any better at all and I had an mri and went to an orthopediac surgon who said he did not think surgery would help.
When i was dxed with cancer they did a bone scan and xray of my left femur as there was and still is a lytic lesion in the dysital femur. Other N bone scans show that area to be stable...
Now in the last few days my right leg /knee thigh area is getting slight sensations of the same type of vague pain that started in my left leg/knee....
what can I do to find out what is wrong I have been taking oxycodone to help with the all over pain and that is not leading a quality life... please help as i keep hitting road blocks and no answers ...

Oh, honey!

With your prior bumpy medical history, surely you have an Oncologist? Do not depend on an internet forum to diagnose you.... get your fanny to a specialist. Best of luck!

Hello nan ..yes I do have an oncologist a primary care dr and an othopaedic surgon.. But I have to push and push it seems to get a dx. My pain level keeps increasing and nothing really brings long term relief this type of pain is the worse i have ever had.. I/we have had 3 homebirths and the labor pains resulted in beautiful babys (all grown now). The pains i have now are worse then that and constant. The enchondriod tumor has been in my femur for over two years without the symptoms. In june of this year I ended up in the er because of the pain... I did 8 weeks of pt without lessing pain. Everyone except my Primary care dr seems to be evasive as to giving a dx. . The orthopedic surgon gave me a script for tramodal and celebrex.. I got the tramadol filled but not the celebrex.. would that help with the pain?? Nothing works at all it seems.. I have an appiontment on monday but call my primary care dr yesterday because i hurt really bad.. my knee and my right ribcage area is way beyond i cry a lot.. it helps but not really i know i do need help but keep hitting road blocks ..what should i do??
