Re: Conventional cancer treatment vs. integrative oncology

Hi Ricardo

You seem very knowledgable on myeloma, are you a doctor?

I'm not attributing my improvement in bloods to the chemo regime, due to the fact that I had a five week break in chemo. I did have chemo in my last week in Germany (last week) as part of Integrative oncology approach, but this was after having lots of complementary treatments and immune boosting supplements, leading up to my hyperthermia and chemo, which are done at the same time.

I should point out that whilst on my conventional regime, my blood counts were not improving, they only improved after a break in chemo and whilst I was having complementary treatments.

Stepping out of the box is not for everyone, but... It works for me.

Hi Dave,

No, I'm not a doctor. What I've picked up about myeloma I've learned mainly through reading here in the forum and the rest of the site over the past few years.

If you had traditional myeloma therapy the last week you were in Germany and didn't have your lab tests done until you were back in Australia, I'm not sure why you would think that the improved results are due solely to the hyperthermia treatment.

It is standard in trials that track patient responses to traditional myeloma therapy to see more and more patients achieving better levels of response as their therapy progresses month after month.

In fact, I'm sure there are plenty of patients here in the forum who will tell you that their m-spikes improved progressively as their treatment went along.

Do keep us posted on how your therapy is going, and also see if you can find out your risk classification from your oncologist if you get a chance sometime.

Ricardo
