Re: Compression Fracture, Lesion
That's great news that Carfilzomib forms new bone!. What are the side effects of Zometa? Since my husband gets it monthly.

Hi Suzierose...I also read something about carfilzomib possibly building new bone, from a study done in mice. It was reported on Pat Killingsworth's blog...the author was John Gever, a senior editor of Med Page Today, published on Set. 7, 2012. Hope that helps. Pat has a wonderful blog, if you haven't already seen it. I am not very adept at 'cutting and pasting' (can't even do emoticons) so will just refer you to that source.

Re: Compression Fracture, Lesion
In response to the post on Wednesday. I would first speak to a neurosurgeon or spine surgeon about the ability to get or not to get a kyphoplasty. Kyphoplasties are a an excellent avenue to take for relieving the back pain associated with compression fractures. However, there are limitations- old fractures etc. But I would let the person doing the potential procedure yes or no.
Bottom line -- I too would send you to a neurosrugeon for evaluation for kyphoplasty. The worst he/she can say is no, but you will know the answer.
