Nancy Stewart, sorry to read about your shingles problem. Your post about being on acyclovir for several years addresses a question I have regarding long-term usage. I will be getting my vaccinations this Thursday, so will be asking my doctor about remaining on acyclovir.
After everything we go through with multiple myeloma and a bone marrow transplant (BMT), the previously reported 50/50 chance of developing shingles is not the kind of odds I like.
