Chemo postponed due to chest infection

Eric made the 4 hour coach trip yesterday morning to the hospital where he is been treated. He has developed a chest infection the past 10 days and he has had 2 lots of antibiotics. When he went to check in yesterday they brought a doctor to examine him and they refused to admit him as it could go to pneumonia once his treatment starts. He has been told to come back next Saturday. Will this delay effect his treatment and if he needs another week off will that be ok.

Of course these infections are always reason for concern, but hopefully the antibiotics will be successful, and treatment can be resumed soon. Don't get too stressed about it. These things happen. My husband (six + year multiple myeloma patient) has had this happen more than a few times, and he is still with us, a very vibrant, amazing guy.

Thanks so much Denise and it's great to hear about your Husband still being with you after over 6 years. Eric went to his GP yesterday as he was due in today but he phoned the Professor and told him that he wouldn't be able to go due to chest getting much worse. He had Eric go and see a lung specialist for xray and examination and it has gne to pneumonia after all. He has been given 6 lots of meds and told to go back for chemo 9th January. I'm sure this happens all the time in winter.
