Does a patient's "stage" usually change with treatment?

I am also new to this forum and find it very helpful. I was diagnosed with stage 3 in December 2013. I was wondering do we ever CHANGE our stage as we improve with treatment?

Stage is primarily determined at diagnosis, so stage doesn't change with treatment. Hopefully, what changes with treatment are the amount of myeloma and the symptoms caused by myeloma.
