What could be causing new pain all over?

Does anyone have insight on what might be causing pain all over?

My mom has a lot of bone damage, but before her diagnosis 3 months ago she wasn't in too much pain -- she was able to do pretty much everything, including cleaning, traveling, etc.

Her doctor said she is in some kind of remission and she is on RVD. She has no M spike, however she is in constant horrible pain now.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing all the aches and pains if she is in remission and wasn't in too much pain prior to diagnosis?

She hasn't yet started bone strengthener because she wants to see a specialist before starting anymore drugs.

Do you know her dex dosage? High dosages of steroids can cause widespread muscle pain. I had this when I first began treatment because my doctor gave me a higher dosage than normal for my kidneys, which were affected by the myeloma.

I would check in with the doctor.

I would have her bones checked for lesions (MRI or CT Scan). They can come on suddenly without any other symptoms and while the lab results are still good. My husband complained of pain in his sternum for a couple of months and they diagnosed everything but lesions. Unfortunately by the time they did the Scan the lesions were worse.
