I was diagnosed with MGUS in 2005 at age 41. Fast forward 10 yrs and I am still in the MGUS stage based on most current labs. Current labs show:
IgG 1930 mg/dL (2005 - 879)
IgA 58 mg/dL (2005-114)
IgM 41 mg/dL (2005- 71)
M-Spike 1.3 g/dL (2005- .5)
Bone Marrow 5%
K/L light chain ration, free, serum 7.3
HGB 13
HCT 38.10%
The doctor said my calcium, kidney functions are good
I have been having siatica-like pain, very painful, for several months, and just received my x-ray report. Under the findings section, it was noted, "Hypertrophic changes of the articular facets are present at multiple levels, especially at L5/S1. Narrowing of the neural foramina is present at this level. A peripherally calcified lesion is present, measuring 3.6 cm in transverse diameter corresponding to the patient's known calcified splenic cyst."
Apparently, a ct scan without contrast done on 10/28/14 showed the splenic cyst measuring 2.5 cm, but it was not brought to my attention. It has since grown to 3.6 cm.
Question: Is there any correlation or connection between MGUS and splenic cysts or stenosis of the spine? My curiosity in this is knowing when spinal pain relates to the "myeloma" journey and when it is merely getting older and arthritic. And as I've tried to research calcified splenic cysts, the information is all over the place and I am uncertain what type of cyst it is. Pretty hopeful it isn't parasitic, because that would really bother me! I don't have infected pets!
Anyone else have anything similar or any suggestions for me?
Thanks, Susie
