I was diagnosed with MGUS due to tests done when being investigated for a serious infection, which was later treated for over 2 months with a strong antibiotic known to cause bone marrow suppression. My free light chains had been only slightly above normal and stable until taking the drug.
My questions are:
How long does bone marrow suppression take to reverse after this type of suppression occurs, and can that cause a temporary change in free light chains and ratios?
Mine almost doubled (involved) though are still low, and the uninvolved also almost disappeared although they have started to rise slightly again. Obviously this has really affected the ratio.
The M-spike remains unchanged at 6 g/l (0.6 g/dL US).
Any feedback would be great.
Take care everyone
