We just received my husband's biopsy results. It showed 85% involvement. His light chain numbers were somewhat deceptive because while they were elevated, they were not as high as when he was first diagnosed. Obviously 85% can't be good. We have an appointment with his doctor on Friday. I would just like some idea on what we are walking into.
Praying with everyone for a cure!

Re: Bone marrow biopsy results
Depending on numerous criteria - including albumin levels, genetic factors, and response to agents - his outlook could be excellent. This disease is so individualized, one just does not know.

Good luck with your journey, I was 52% at diagnosis 3 months ago & my right arm was a mess from bone lesions & unusable. It was so sudden & frightening as it must be for you too. I'm on treatment working towards transplant, with slow progress but now down to 34%. I am told we have to work at this week by week as its so unpredictable. I wish you so much support & love through this situation xx

Hi Marie,
Based on what you wrote before in this posting,
https://myelomabeacon.org/forum/wife-of-multiple-myeloma-patient-t1336.html
about your husband's treatment history, it sounds like he's only been treated with Revlimid and dex and a transplant so far. So he still has a lot of treatment options.
The doctors will probably want to put him on a treatment like Velcade, perhaps combined with cyclophosphamide, and probably with dex as well.
There are other options as well, including Pomalyst, Kyprolis, and Doxil, plus there are a number of drugs in clinical trials.
So, as I said, there are plenty of treatment options left.
