Safety of biologic drugs with monoclonal gammopathy?

I am still in the diagnosis stage with elevated kappa free light chain and free light chain ratio, high IgM levels, anemia, an M spike, etc.

I have concerns over the medications I am already on for lupus. The methotrexate and prednisone aren't an issue, but it's the biologic drug abatacept (Orencia) that worries me and it's association with increased chances of malignancy.

Lab work flagged the monoclonal gammopathy late last year, prior to my starting on abatacept, which saw my referral to an onc/hemo and has initiated further testing. My concerns are whether this drug can play a role in accelerating whatever monoclonal gammopathy I am determined to have.

I don't see my hematologist for another week and will raise the query with him, but in the meantime I wondered if anyone here has experience with biologics and myeloma?

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
