There have been posts here in the forum from time to time on the use of the antibiotic Biaxin (clarithromycin) in myeloma treatment regimens. The most common combination is Biaxin with Revlimid and dexamethasone, which goes by the acronym "BiRD".
For anyone interested in the research that has been done into Biaxin as an anti-myeloma therapy and, more broadly, as an anti-cancer therapy, I thought I would pass along information about this article I recently came across,

An entire section of the article summarises the results of studies that have looked at Biaxin's effectiveness as a myeloma therapy, There is also an accompanying table. (When reading the article, keep in mind that the authors use the acronym "CAM" for "clarithromycin" / Biaxin.)
My quick read of the summary indicates that Biaxin does not seem to show much activity against myeloma on its own. However, it does seem to work well in regimens that include a steroid such as dexamethasone.
