Best drug for arthritis pain?

I am wondering if anyone knows which NSAIDS are the safest for myeloma patients. I am taking Mobic [meloxicam] for ongoing back pain and it seems to help. How long should one take it? I don't want to damage my normal functioning kidneys.

So, I have arthritis that was really starting to bother me a lot, especially in my fingers. I have to say that Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM and eating dark, tart cherries really did work for me and has completely eliminated all of my pain to the point where I don't feel like I have arthritis any more. I wish there were more "natural" remedies out there that work as well as these did for me.

I take one of these each morning:

Hello,

All of the NSAIDs are similar in terms of side effects. I would try to use them as little as possible but when you need them and they work it is OK to take them as prescribed. NSAIDS can have many side effects including ulcers and kidney injury. There are no "preferred" NSAIDS for myeloma patients.
