Bence Jones protein - could it be myeloma?

My husband, who has heart failure, diabetes and chronic kidney failure, was recently referred to a haematologist because his bloods were showing a few abnormalities including Bence Jones protein. He's has had more bloods taken and has done a 24hr urine sample. He mentioned myeloma to us at that meeting saying it could be controlled with medication. We are waiting to see the dr for the results but are really concerned. With his problems COULD it be myeloma?

I sounds like it could be Myeloma. I bet the next step is to do a bone marrow biopsy. My prayers are with you both. It sounds like you already have your hands full.

Thanks for your comments. Saw consultant on Thursday and urine test results still not available and a couple of blood tests not back yet so yet another tense time until we go back for results. He did have a bone marrow sample taken though. I've asked the specialist myeloma nurse to contact us if any results come back to keep us in the loop. Not sure what else to do until we get some feedback. He's just soooo tired all the time.

By the way there was a figure of 30 mentioned in relation to the Bence Jones protein in his blood test. (We live in the UK)
