Yesterday I found out that my L chain is 28.4, normal is 26.3 or lower. I was told that typically nothing is done until the number reaches 100. I underwent a auto SCT in Dec 2011 with great success- until now! I am on Revlimid 10 everyday & get a once a month treatment of Zometa. Needless to say I am in a panic, I was hoping for a long remission to have time with my children 12 & 15.
Has anyone out there had similar experience? What was done for you, and was it successful? I am all about being as aggressive as I can to keep this disease at bay and am terrified to wait until my numbers reach 100 to start doing treatment. Please advise!

Re: Beginning of relapse - what treatments have helped you?
I'm sure not a Dr., but my first thought would be that they would add some meds to your current Revlimid, i.e. Velcade & Dex. My husband's transplant was last October. He has been on RVD since. He just had his one year post transplant check-up at Mayo yesterday. The Dr. was happy with how he is doing, and took him off the Revlimid and Dex.

Re: Beginning of relapse - what treatments have helped you?
Thank you- that makes sense to me! I don't want to cause problems but my husband and I don't want to wait and watch the number go up... I may have to insist on treatment now and if that fails go elsewhere. The longer I wait the more damage is done by the multiple myeloma.
