bb2121 for multiple myeloma
I have heard a lot of promising things about bb2121, a collaboration between Bluebird Bio and Celgene. I hear it could be another game changer. Phase 1 to begin early 2016. Any opinions?

Re: bb2121 for multiple myeloma
As you probably know, bb2121 is a CAR T-cell therapy that targets the BCMA protein frequently found on myeloma cells. This press release has more about the therapy and plans by Bluebird and Celgene to further development it in multiple myeloma.
Penn is also working on a BCMA targeted CAR T-cell therapy, but I don't think it is bb2121. See the Penn trial info here at clinicaltrials.gov. There is also an NIH trial that targets BCMA, but I don't think it's technically a CAR T-cell therapy (info at clinicaltrials.gov). (Hat tip to Mark11, who mentioned these trials earlier in the forum in this posting.)
I don't know much about any preclinical research specifically about bb2121 in myeloma; perhaps someone else here does.
