I was on the forum some time ago with back( t7,t8) pain that set off cramps or spasms into the right rib area and stomach.
After a hospital stay forced by the pain, nerve block injections solved the problem for a week or 2 but now it's back!
Having experienced this since October 2011, I am questioning whether or not:
It is the Revlimid, zometa or prednisolone causing the back problem, and therefore the related rib pain.
Does Revlimid alone kick off this sort of reaction in many people.
Will a break from the myeloma trial medication relieve the situation.
Should I hang in there and persist with further nerve block injections or go it alone until the trial concludes at the end of 2012?
I am very wary of unfamiliar physicians poking unfamiliar solutions into my body or back.
I guess I am looking for some answers to what Revlimid or the other drugs do as side effects.

Re: Back/ rib pain and cramps
I can relate that Revlimid did cause an increase in skeletal pain. Also I am subject to hard cramping in my calves occasionally.
I have severe arthritis and my myeloma bone pain was diagnosed as arthritis for quite awhile. Early chemo cleared up the severe pain but it returned in a much reduced level level with Rev.
It affects my lower back not my ribs or stomach. It was very manageable. It was the Rev in my case because I had been on zometa before without a reaction.
Please note my skeletal survey showed very little myeloma damage and my lower back has hurt for years with arthritis. I hope this is some help. It certainly isn't an apple to apple comparison.
Chronic pain sure sucks, my thoughts are with you.
