Austin is an awesome town and it is the home of the University of Texas so there are good oncologists in Austin. Houston is about a 3-hour drive if you need to go to MD Anderson.
Not a small city. It is the State Capital and has 1 million in the city and 2 million in the metro area.

Re: Possible move to Texas - concerns re: doctor & treatment
Hello all,
I first have to apologize for not getting back to say thanks for the last comments on my post. So much has happened. My wife had neurosurgery one year ago that was with multiple complications. She is doing well but did not go back to work. She had months of therapy and was away from home for over 3 months.
So, my move to the Texas / Austin area did not happen. It's still on our minds, but it's first things first. Moving would not be good right now.
Also, during my wife's recovery / surgery, I had prostate surgery. My daughter came up for a week to help after that.
Even though I had a complete prostate removal and it all went well, my latest PSA shows a small increase. My urologist is not overly concerned due to the prostate biopsy after surgery.
I am going to try and get my transplant date set. But also need to see a urologist at the transplant hospital so they can communicate. I already had my cells harvested while in a complete response. So at least that's done.
I'm no longer in a complete response. And my numbers have risen. Latest therapy is Pomalyst, dex,and Ninlaro.
Thank You, Castaway
