Just curious if anyone else has the anti-Fya antibody? Found this interesting info.
Multiple myeloma
An increased incidence of Duffy antigen has been reported in patients with multiple myeloma compared with healthy controls.

Re: Anyone else have Duffy anti-Fya antibody?
How would a multiple myeloma patient know if he/she has it? This antigen isn't part of a standard FISH probe for multiple myeloma. You would have to go out of your way to be tested for it.

Re: Anyone else have Duffy anti-Fya antibody?
Hi Multibilly,
Your right! It's not a standard test. Pre blood transfusion testing or prior to surgeries. I had found out that I have the antibody in case I needed a blood transfusion. Didn't need one. I had a transfusion in 2001 unrelated to my mgus. I think I got the antibody then I guess. Found it odd that some myeloma patients have it too. Take care.
