ALT levels and VRD therapy

by blair77 on Fri Oct 25, 2013 10:14 am

My husbands liver enzymes (ALT) have nearly doubled since beginning his RVD therapy in April of 2013. They have increased by roughly 10 points each month topping out at 115. He is being sent for a liver ultrasound next week. Has anyone else experienced liver enzyme abnormalities with their therapy? His AST is either normal or slightly elevated.

My liver enzymes went up during treatment. Towards the end of my induction/stem cell transplant (after 5 months on VEL Cy And DEX, then high dose MEL) they were two to three times my normal

AST - 20 start 64, end
ALT- 28 start 75, end

They went back down after treatment. Doctor was not that cocerned by it as I am a small person and pretty sensitive to meds.

They saw "something" on my liver during a scan looking for a possible blood clot in my chest. I had a CT of my liver and found out I have a benign FNH tumor on my liver!

Never had any more liver issues.

Last time they were checked, june 2013 AST-16, ALT -14

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what the good range is for these number. I'm just looking at my blood work history.
